I am including Thursday in my weekend because it was so cool too.
Here is the recap:
Thursday:
We went to hear Aerosmith play. You can see a picture or two here.
They were GREAT!! Its pretty hard to be let down by "Americas Greatest Rock Band".
We had a blast!!
Friday:
I had to work all day Friday, but that night Audrey and I were joined by Andy for an evening of crazy yummy pizza from Amici's and "The Dark Knight Rises".
Now I am not a big Batman fan or anything, but this movie is GREAT! It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time and you really don't begin to even think that it will end the way it does.
Saturday:
Audrey and I decided to be slightly crafty and hippy and get our tie dye on! Be on the lookout for the results! They turned out pretty great!
This was my drink of choice for Saturday night, Mason Jar Margarita. So yummy and super easy! I will tell you about that soon too!
That night, we went to Town Park and listened to some Motown music. It was so nice to just sit on a blanket and enjoy the music. We even got a little dancing in.
Sunday:
We were up at the butt crack of dawn to get our SKYDIVE on!! We had to be there by 8am and it was about a 2.5 hour drive. Excuse the rough faces, but we decided we needed a picture before we risked our lives.
This is where it got real. Signing over our lives.
WE SURVIVED!!!
The jump itself was beyond amazing. I seriously can not even explain how it feels to jump out of an airplane. The free fall part was so crazy! You literally feel like you are flying and looking back now I really can't believe we did it! Free falling was so great and is something that I will always remember. I also had a great instructor to go with me and although Dave did make me a little nauseous after spinning me when we popped the parachute, I would not have traded this experience for anything.
I can not wait to go again!!!
Even after watching this video:
She is a trooper for sure!!!
After our morning adventure we headed back home and stopped at Little Five Points in Atlanta. This place is full of the coolest restaurants, shops and graffiti art.
This weekend was definitely one for the record books, and one I will never forget. So happy to spend quality time with one of my sisters, and I can not wait for a weekend with the other!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!! Would you ever go skydiving??
I would say do it for sure!!!
Linking up today!
Check out some of these other great weekend updates!!
4. This quote makes me smile, it makes you remember that each and every person is important in one way or another, and we look over that, more often than not.
On this Thankful Thursday, I am going to tell you about one item in my life I recently have been very thankful for. So here she is.
Meet Edna.
Edna is my car, and yesterday I found out she is officially all mine. I made it through 5 years of payments on one vehicle and I am proud to say that it is over.
Edna is not a fancy car, but she does the job right. She is reliable and safe, she can carry lots of people and stuff. And although I might not keep her the cleanest, she is perfect for me.
Last night as I was driving home from dinner, I actually got a little choked up.
Me and Edna have been through a lot. I began purchasing her, with the help of some family members, about five years ago. My other car wasn't going to make it to Texas. She has been with me since then, always reliable, always down for a road trip. She has been on many trips to Texas, a few to Florida and many in between. She has been slept in, thrown up in, and bumped into. She has seen many late nights and early mornings.
She has heard my thoughts, my screams, my crying, and my crazy road rage. She has been packed to the brim, carrying only me and everything I owned. She has carried my saddle for days at a time, taken me to jobs I hated and to friends I loved. She has seen arguments and and make-ups.
So today I am THANKFUL for my car, for 5 years of payments which taught me the importance of being committed to making money, for the memories I have in Edna, and the things I have learned in the past 5 years.
and yes, I did just do an entire post about my car.
I am thankful for the time I recently spent with my family, I love getting to see them and we always have the best time laughing and carrying on
I am thankful that our tomato plant finally decided to produce. We now have one tomato!
I am thankful for my creativity, everyday I learn more and more about myself and the things that I want to do with my life. I don't have it all figured out yet, but everyday one small thing becomes a little more clear. That is enough for now.
I am thankful for past relationships, whether it was friends, boyfriends, family members, etc. I truly believe you learn something from each and every person that you meet, and I am thankful for those things I have learned.
I am thankful that I decided to go away from home for school in Texas. Making the decision at the time seemed a little difficult, but I know now that I would not be the same person had I not left my small town. I miss my friends and all the memories from WTAMU daily.
It seems that lately I can't get ahead. I work on things and get partly done and something else comes up. I'm guessing the best thing to do is just to "keep on keepin on." Things will get done in their own time, and I WILL make this side business work. Positive thinking is key. More hours in the day would be ideal, but last night I actually accomplished some things on my never-ending list of to do's.
So without further adieu...
Check out all the new items I just added to my Etsy Shop!
These can all be used as makeup/jewelry bags or bags to hold smaller items within a larger purse.
They would be perfect to keep your sunglasses from getting scratched inside your bag. I can do custom orders and have a big variety of fabrics on hand.
especially you HA, I know you hate my incorrect grammar.
Here is a little recap of my day off work yesterday, we went to the Mart in Atlanta to look for wholesale items for my mom's business, and also do a little "cash and carry" buying!
I came home with some great deals and sore feet from all the walking!
Perfect day!
Doing a little linking up with some instagram today...
I am the biggest fan of peaches and all other fresh fruit right now, and this super easy recipe incorporates them all. Remember those peaches?? I decided to put them to use and make a cobbler!
This recipe literally takes 30 minutes from start to finish and then it is ready to eat!!
(this is a recipe courtesy of Mama Ginny, she calls it a "dump cobbler")
Ingredients:
2 cups peaches (or any other fresh fruit) sliced
1 stick of butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Process:
Preheat the oven to 350. Melt the stick of butter in a 9x9 baking dish until bubbly hot.
Mix together flour, sugar, and milk in a separate bowl.
Take butter out of the oven carefully and add the flour, sugar, milk mixture. Then add the peaches on top.
Pop back into the oven for 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Serve with vanilla ice cream, cool whip, or my fav (vanilla frozen yogurt)
Here is mine!! It was so GOOD!! and super easy!!
Yay for easy desserts, the only downside is that I eat to much of them...
I don't do much to my hair right now, its long and brown and easy to keep. But lately I have been wanting to try something new and I just can't get the ombre look out of my head. It looks so neat to me and I feel like it would still be easy upkeep.
Do any of you have opinions on ombre hair? I have been looking over pictures and here are a few I have
I'm a little late today...
This post should have been made yesterday on my "Thankful Thursday", however, I made a promise to myself to say 5 things I am thankful for each week. So Friday it is.
I am thankful today is Friday. This week seems unbelievably long and work each day has felt like it never ends. I am not quite sure why this is, but maybe it's because...
My sister and mama are coming this weekend!!! I am so excited!! I love spending time with Audrey and Mama Ginny! We are going to the Mart in the ATL on Monday, so I get a day off work. HipHipHooray.
the RAIN!!! Goodness, we have needed it!! Working for a feed company, I hear everyday the amount of moisture in the ground, and lately its only been the lack of. This rain has helped us greatly. Keep it coming Lord, we are so grateful.
I am thankful for my small town this week. I got to see a deer on one of my afternoon runs, and one of my sweet customers brought me a bag of peaches. I love knowing at least a couple people everywhere you go and it never gets old being close to animals while out on a jog.
And finally, I am thankful for my daddy. Today is his birthday and I am thankful today for the things he has taught me, the horse lessons I have learned, and the life lessons I learned from those. He means so much to me and I am thankful for him each and everyday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY FRANK!!!
That's my thankfulness... even if it is a day late.
