a frank look at my eating this weekend

Okay, so here is the real truth about this weekend. I ate. A lot. I ate all the things I shouldn't, I drank all the things I shouldn't, but you know what? I am totally okay with it.

And you know why? Because sometimes you just have to give yourself a break, not be so hard on yourself, because this is your life, and even though we all want to be healthy, we all want to have a good long life, we all want to feel our best, sometimes we just want to eat. That is where I was this weekend.

This diet has been hard, one that I still can't believe I have stuck to as well as I have. Sure I have a nibble every now and then, but for the most part I am really strict throughout the week. It surprises me when I feel bad about taking a nibble, because I want to be proud of myself, proud of how far I have come and how much different I feel since starting yoga and this journey of teacher training. I came home Sunday, and got right back on track, eating great all day yesterday, and starting this Monday off good as well. This week will be a tough one, with tailgating at the Braves game tomorrow and a NASCAR camping weekend coming up, but I have already come up with some great ideas and can't wait to share my healthy eating plans with you all later this week!

So moral of this story is... LIVE! Be okay with a couple choices away from your diet, it will help you stay on track in the long run. Be okay with where you are right now.
Be in the moment, because these moments are beautiful.

ps: I am so proud of these guys and all their hard work! Be on the lookout for the next BBQ champions!

High Five for Friday

Heck yes! That's how I am starting this post, you see that pic above? That's me, doing my first ever headstand all by myself. My intense yoga schedule is paying off and I was so excited when Allie snagged this picture of me! I know I have been a little MIA this week, but I plan on starting back fresh after the weekend. Good things are coming peeps. Good things.

Here's my 5 things for Friday to get me TO the weekend!

Uno+ Headstands, they have worked my core to the bone this week, cannot wait for each and every class.
Dos+ Weekends, I live for that day and a half to get my sun on, spend time with Andy, and fill every moment with something wonderful.
Tres+ The fact that Instagram now has videos. Believe me, this might not be great for my followers, but I am sure it will keep me entertained, plus you now actually get to see what SaraMontana Says... <get it?>
Quatro+ (I just had to count all the way out loud to get to quatro, thanks for nothing Ms Blanchard) This quote and my garden. It just can't grow quickly enough. But I have a pepper now, hooray!
Cinco+ And finally all my inspiration for my new room, yeah you heard me right, I am moving, to a new house with a new room so I am taking this time to re-do it all, sell a few things, and clean out some closets!

My May

May was a pretty busy month for me, between my birthday, strawberry picking, a wedding, going home two out of four weekends, and finishing it up with Memorial Day and a graduation, I'd say that all adds up to a pretty perfect month.

look what my June is shaping up like...

And lastly, a video of someone I am very proud of...

You are just what we needed.

Today there were tears, but little sister graduated high school today. I truly can't believe that this day has finally got here, so in true Tana spirit, here is a letter to Josie.

Sweet Jose,
Let me start off by saying how much I love you. I couldn't be happier that God gave you to us. You are just what we needed. A push towards the direction of crazy, we can always count on you for a laugh, and I can always give you my own personal sob story (when I shouldn't) and know you will listen.
As you graduate, grow up, and get out of the small bubble called high school there are a few things you should remember. First off, we all love you tremendously. We may fight or get upset with you, but our love for you is constant. The same goes for God's Love, he is always there, at times when you feel alone, scared or just don't know what to do in a situation, say a prayer and feel his presence. He is there. Next, follow your dreams. Do all the things you always wanted to do. Make decisions for yourself and don't be in a hurry to find someone. Find yourself first. This is the time in your life to figure out yourself, figure out who you are and what you want, but don't be in a hurry, you have plenty of time.

And lastly, remember I will always be here for you, for you to call when you need to cry, yell, or complain. To call when you need a laugh, to visit when you just need time away. I love you gopher. Always.

Oh yeah... get ready to jump out of a plane.

#140

shorts: hand-me-downs // shirt: GoFish // boots: BCBG

I am loving the mix of long-sleeves and shorts this time of year and this shirt is perfect for an evening out when you want to be comfortable yet still show a trendier side. This top has also been seen here, and I believe it is best worn with a more fitted bottom, both of my cases have been gray, but I think the red would also look great with black leggings or regular blue jeans.

excuse my waving hand.
WHEW!
What a weekend! It is Sunday night as I write this and my heart is full with the activities of the weekend. Friday was spent with friends at dinner and out and about in downtown Athens. Although it was a late night for this "old" lady, I had the best of time talking, laughing, and having a few drinks with some pretty fun people. It was Twilight weekend in Athens, and for those of you outside of Georgia, that is a bike race that zooms around downtown once a year. It draws huge crowds to the area and it is so fun every year. Saturday, I worked the morning then went to a small festival in my town that showcases local talent with my sister. We had the most amazing ice cream cone and then headed home for a short afternoon rest. Saturday night Andy and I loaded up the SPP truck and headed to a tractor pull for the night. It ran pretty late, but we sold lots of shirts and hats and it was a successful evening all around. Today was spent in church, followed by dinner with Andy's family and then the rain forced us inside for the afternoon and I seriously took the best nap of my life. All in all it was a fun filled, but restful weekend that left me refreshed and ready for the week. What were you all up to this weekend? Later Gators, Montana

High Five for Casual Friday!

jeans: LEI (old) // button-up: Charlotte Russe // shoes: Toms
(excuse the baggy knees)

TGIF!
Thank goodness it is Friday. I am unbelievably excited for this weekend and I can't wait for it to start. Tonight is Twilight in Athens, and we are meeting up with a group of friends to watch the bicycles whiz by! Tomorrow of course includes working in the AM followed by strawberry picking and then rednecking it up at the tractor pull. Sunday will hopefully include some sunshine and laziness, praying the rain will hold off.
Now on to this super casual outfit... my job includes lifting feed bags, talking to farmers, and I always feel dusty no matter how much I am in the office, this shirt and jeans are perfect for when I want to feel slightly trendy, yet still appropriate for my casual workplace. A button up is the perfect item and I wear them on the daily. What are you looking forward to this weekend? Later Gators, Montana

Oh yeah, I did a headstand last night at yoga class. I am a future yogi for sure and I wish there were more classes that I could attend. I really feel like I have found my exercise of choice. Yes there will still be running for cardio, but yoga is my new love.

Taking Time to Smell the Flowers

skirt: Kohls // tee, cardigan, shoes: Old Navy

This past weekend seems to be a whirlwind, being sick most of last week caused the time I finally felt better to go even more quickly. It seems to be often that I get caught up in all that I have to do daily and forget to take time to enjoy the little things. The flowers in my yard have been beautiful (as most azaleas are in the south this time of year) and it was just today that I finally took the time to take a photo. This time of year is always some of the busiest for me, but most definitely the part of the year I love the most. I took some time this afternoon to plant a small garden, put some herbs in pots and spend a little time with Audrey. I love these small things and know that we will benefit in the coming months when we get fresh veggies out of our garden. It is afternoons like this one that I am glad I took the time to stop and smell the flowers, and plant a garden. Later Gators, Montana

top'o the morning to ya!

it's Friday yall!! i am so ready for this super fun and packed weekend that i wish it was 5 o'clock already. we are going to have a quiet night in tonight to gear up for the next two days. of course, i have to work tomorrow morning, but after that Andy and I are heading north to go horseback riding. Andy got me a Living Social voucher for Valentines Day and we get to use it this weekend! Saturday night we will be celebrating St. Patrick's and a friend's birthday at a lake house and then SPP is hitting a car show in Atlanta on Sunday. needless to say, we will all be worn out by the time Sunday night rolls around but i love being busy so this weekend is gonna be the best!

now on to my outfit for a night out during St. Patrick's day. if we had plans to go out on the town, i would choose something along these lines before. i love the more neutral looks of the clothing, while giving a pop of color in the jewelry. i am not a huge fan of green all over and i feel like for night time this laid back look works a lot better. you still get a pop of color from the blue, and i love the green and gold like before.

a roadtrip, a horse show, and a butt whoopin.

i am just going to preface this post by saying it will be all over the place.

andy and i were out on the road this weekend, getting into all kinds of shenanigans for a work trip mainly for me. we logged 1000+ miles in five days, stayed in four different towns, and three different hotels. below are some pics from our trip.

IHOP, here is where andy said his food was prettier than mine for my blog.

i don't think mine looked too bad though.

just a little beach fun after my trade show was over.
it was the most perfect day in Tampa, and we spent the afternoon all around Honeymoon Island.
i am seriously living in the wrong place. i could have stayed here forever. looking into moving.
in my happy place.
fish tacos at the beach, made even better by the view.
we also got to stop after the beach and sneak an orange picking. it was a first for both of us.
<3
on Sunday, i had a horse show to judge. It was a beautiful day, and i am so thankful for andy for being patient while i worked away.
this is the gorgeous sunset on our way back to Madison.
in short, i got to spend some amazing time with Andy  see my family, judge some horses, catch up with old friends, and make some new ones. we also met a lady that i hope to be just like in 40 years, someone that was full of life, happiness, and ready to live life to the fullest.
so this Thursday i am thankful for this past weekend, i am thankful for my family, for Andy for horses, for friends. i am motivated to make some changes in my life within the coming year, and to enjoy each and every day.
oh and by the way... we play a little game called "punch bug" the entire trip, and i am sad to say that i was the biggest loser. andy wooped up on me.
andy is even creating another shirt to add to his store. what do yall think of the design?? personally i am loving it! i might be partial! be sure to check out all of his motorsports apparel at speedpowerpassion.com.
hope each and every one of you are having a great Thursday!! i am so excited to be heading to athens tonight to see Jerry Seinfeld!
