Last weekend (yes, I am that far behind) we got to have some amazing friends come and visit. We had Braves tickets, and got to watch Chipper Jones play one of his last games at home. Needless to say I got a little teary eyed and can't imagine watching the games next year without him being out there.
Anyway, I am done being sappy. I got to spend some time with one of my besties and we even got to tailgate before the baseball game. I made some super simple dip and decided to include the recipe. It is super yummy and keeps really well.
Try this recipe. It is beyond amazing.
Kenda's Sausage Dip
8 oz creme cheese2 cups sour creme
1 cup salsa or more if needed
1 pound sausage (I used mild but you can use hot or spicy if you like)
Brown the sausage and crumble it while you are cooking it - just like you were cooking hamburger for tacos. Put the sausage in a colander and drain the fat. I run hot water over it to get all the fat off. Then spread it on paper towels to get the water off.
Heat the creme cheese in microwave on half power until soft (about 1-2 minutes) mix sour creme, sausage and salsa into the creme cheese. If it is too thick add more salsa until it gets the dipping consistency. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or just eat it as is. The flavor intensifies after refrigeration and it will thicken up some also.
