HighFives...

I am giving HIGH FIVES for the following:

organized fabric, thank goodness I found this ugly shelf, it doesn't even matter how ugly it is, as long as it keeps my guest room fabric clutter free

we started the tradition of crockpot Wednesday this week, so excited its finally cool enough to make some soups and stews. This works out great so that food will be ready the minute we walk in from AWANA.
I stole this quote from someone off Pinterest, and absolutely love it.

I have on my happy shoes today, determined to have a wonderful Friday

This will be me tomorrow night, surrounded by best friends, watching Chipper play one of his last regular season games, and I couldn't be more excited!!

an interweb of internet setup

So a little random something happened to me yesterday. Here is a story.
It might bore you.
I have been wanting to get wireless internet set up in my house for a while now, and yesterday it finally happened. That's not the weird part.
A few weeks ago I had called AT&T to get some information about getting set up. I was directed to a sales representative, Kenneth. I made it clear when I got on the phone that I wasn't going to be purchasing the service today. I was mainly calling to get information about when I did decided to purchase. Kenneth was extremely helpful, funny, and very outgoing. He made me laugh, and really had me feeling guilty about not purchasing the service from him. At the end of our conversation, I asked if there was anyway that when I did decide to purchase, would I be able to talk to him? He explained about the thousands of people they have working the phones, and that it would be very unlikely that I would even be directed to the same office again (he was in Utah). I hung up feeling guilty that he wouldn't be credited for the sale.

So yesterday, I finally got around to calling the 800 number again. I pushed a few buttons, letting them know I wanted to purchase service. Low and behold, whose voice did I think I heard on the other line?? I could have swore it was KENNETH! I didn't want to sound like a crazy lady because I felt like it was so impossible to be directed to the exact same person, so I made a joke, "you are gonna give me just as good of deal as the other guy promised me right?" He then asked questions and I finally decided to tell him I was pretty convinced he was the exact same person I had talked to before. Well, he wasn't too convinced at first,  I am sure he talks to hundreds of people a day, and there is no way he would remember me, but once he punched in my information, HE DID!

We both couldn't believe that I had been directed to the exact same office, let alone the exact same person, I had talked to two weeks earlier. Once again, Kenneth was extremely helpful, funny, and gave me a great deal, all the while us both being in disbelief that we had once again talked.
Needless to say, this time I purchased the service, and I left our "internet setup date" realizing that no matter how large the world seems, no matter how far away a person might be from you, and all the bad there is in the world, there is a WORLD FULL of good too.

So, to Kenneth I thank you! I thank you for our random phone encounter, and for the internet service that will soon help me become a better blogger.

My blog thanks you.

Have any of you ever had a random thing like this happen to you? Is it really that random?
I would love to have ya'lls input!

a drive, a birthday, a wedding, and a new layout

This weekend was a busy one to say the least. Andy and I headed to my home in Denmark this weekend.
It was amazing to celebrate with friends and family for both my sweet mama's birthday, and for my friends wedding.
Here are a few photos to re-cap the weekend.

The beautiful sunset on our way in. Good thing A was driving.

My Mama's Birthday cake. (she is going to kill me for putting this on the interweb)

Just a little camera fun at the birthday party.

Dirt road runs at home on an early morning are the BEST. This one sure didn't let me down.

Since we were over excited with our time planning to get to the wedding, we were able to stop at this cute roadside store. All the preserves, syrups, and South Carolina goodies you could imagine.

This is where the wedding was held, Old Sheldon Church. This was the ruins of a church that was burnt once by the British and then again by the Northern army during the civil war. To say that it was beautiful would be an understatement.

Only picture I snapped of the two of us all dressed up.

The entry way to where the reception was held. Too beautiful for words.

Sunday, A put up the tin flag he had made for my granny. I think it looks great!
You can check out all the great things he makes here.

The rest of my Sunday was spent catching up with my family and watching these two goobers do acrobatic tricks on our front porch. My silly, silly sisters.

It was a beyond wonderful weekend at home, I am always super sad to be back away from my precious family, but look forward to the next time we can all be together again. They make me smile, laugh til it hurts, and just so happy.

Oh... Have you noticed my new layout? I am absolutely in LOVE with it! It was done by a sweet friend, who was a real life friend in college, we lost touch, and then I found her again in the bloggy world.
Cristin does amazing work and was so quick at making my page exactly what I wanted! Go check out her page NOW!
She truly is the best! If you need someone to vamp up your page, contact her.

Oh yeah, I am participating in a group giveaway HERE.
Go enter now!

And... I am guest posting for Stormy while she is off doing the wedding thang.

blessed. lucky. thankful.

I have been blessed.
Blessed with a mother who loves me with all her heart. Every single bit of it. Blessed with someone who supports me in each of my decisions, blessed with someone who is always there, no matter how far I move. Blessed with someone who cares about every single aspect of my life.

I am lucky.
Lucky to have a mother who loves me to pieces. Lucky to have a friend that loves to do the same things I do. Lucky to have someone to share my dreams, wishes, and thoughts with. Lucky to have someone to give me honest advice about each and every idea I have.

I am thankful.
Thankful to have a mother who will love me forever. Thankful to have someone to lean on when times get tough. Thankful to have someone that pushes me in my Faith, and is a good example in hers. Thankful to have a mother who is one of the hardest workers I know, one that will do anything to make sure we are happy and cared for.

Blessed. Lucky. Thankful.
and most of all happy today.

Happiest of Birthdays to MamaGinny!!
I sure love you!!!

extremely thankful.

I have a heavy heart today, a heart that is heavy for the loss of a life.
Once again I am reminded how precious each and every moment is. Take time to make the most of them. Take time to enjoy each and every second.

This past week has been one filled with moments of sadness, mainly for others affected by the tragic losses of the ones they loved. A friend that is my age, that I have not seen in probably a year passed away un-expectantly. We were not close friends, but he was someone you could always count on for a smile, and someone that always had an encouraging word. During my first two years of college, we were a part of the same clubs, classes, and social group. He was always so full of life and laughter, never had a discouraging word.
He passed away earlier this week in a car accident.

I am filled with sadness for his family, for his close friends, and for those who did not have the chance to meet him.
Even though we were not close, it brings so much out in me. I want to LIVE each moment. I want to ENJOY every aspect of this precious life I am given. I want to make my life one that is WORTH living. Each and everyone of us were put on this Earth for reason, a reason that we may not even know at the time, but one that is specific to us. We must make the most of each day, because we never know when it might be our last.
I thank Jason for helping me to realize this once again.

So today I am thankful, thankful to the good Lord above for blessing me with this life, thankful for Jason and all the laughter and smiles he brought to each and every person he touched. I am thankful for all the little moments I receive, especially when I am questioning my faith. And I am thankful my time here on Earth, realizing it is very, very precious.

Me, Myself, and I think I might be crazy...

I'm feeling a little selfish today so I thought I would talk about myself.
No, but seriously, this is the Me, Myself, and I link up. I am super excited to find out more random things from other bloggers. Head on over and link up so I can stalk you too.

1. When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
I usually spend some time outside. The fresh air always seems to clear my head. I also really love time to myself, not that I am not a people person (I totally am), I just like to do things alone sometimes. It helps me focus in on myself and the things I need to get done.

2. If you had to live in a different time period which would you prefer?
I was asked this in my newspaper interview, I guess I would have to say the 70's. I really like all the colors from then. The clothing too. Comfortable in style and with yourself.

3. What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I absolutely cannot get enough of Halloween, I have had some pretty amazing costumes. (let me toot my own horn, toot, toot)
It would have to be a toss up between a Smurfette or Kelly Kapowski.
SMURF1

What do you think?

4. Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
1) I absolutely cannot stand people who leave their buggies out in the middle of the parking lot. That is what is wrong with America. Laziness.
2) I have a weird thing about textures of food. I am picky about the texture of a food more so than the taste. If I don't like something, its usually for that reason.
3) I give everyone a hard time, everyone. I don't really have a reason for doing it, but I usually wait until I know you pretty well, and I usually only do it if I like you as a person.
4) I would choose to go barefoot everywhere if it was possible.
5) The very first thing I do when I get home is change clothes, I just feel the need to get out of my "work" clothing, no matter how comfortable.

5. What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
Learn to make the most of the hand life dealt you, make the best of each and every moment.
You won't get these back. Things you think matter. Don't. Things you put little thought into. Do.

Braves, Dawgs, and Grillin

This weekend was a great one, spent with friends, family, and the boy. I know you are supposed to get rested up for the work week each weekend, but it seems exactly the opposite for me. I go hard all weekend and during the week I "try" to get rested up. This one was no different.
Pictures say a thousand words, so here are at least a couple thousand.

FRIDAY:

Tried out a new clutch idea for the Braves game Friday night, and I am in LOVE with how it came out!
I can't wait to make others for Georgia gamedays and other sporting events/collegiate alumni activities!
I am going to start selling them in my shop too! If you have an old t-shirt you would like made into a clutch let me know!

Me and the boy have a running joke that Chipper Jones signs only the inside of our cups. We know its stupid, but we act surprised each time we get a new one.

I caught the super fan in action! He splurged on the best seats and we had a wonderful time!

We got to drink some Tomahawk Ale, which is HA's favorite. He was so excited, and I was too!

And, of course, it was Friday, so we got to see fireworks after the game! I love going to Braves games on Friday nights, mainly because I have a severe love of fireworks. They make me smile like a little kid!

SATURDAY:
I got to spend some time in Athens to watch the DAWGS tee it up BETWEEN THE HEDGES!
I absolutely love the time spent on Saturday's in Athens and I love the hustle and bustle of all the fans. I got to spend time with old friends and family!

My beautiful sister, and her friend came to the game too, it was so good to see her and spend some QT.

We had a good amount of drama at the game but you know how the saying goes, "there is nothing finer in the land than a drunk, obnoxious Georgia fan"
It was all in good fun, and things turned out fine. Plus the Dawgs kicked some tail and it was a perfect night for watching some football!

SUNDAY:
Sunday morning we all went to Cracker Barrel and did some serious grubbing. I then spent the rest of the day resting and trying to catch up on some reality TV.
Sunday afternoon was spent with the Grill Master. And master he did. Grilled fish tacos are his specialty.

It was a wonderful weekend with great memories, the best of friends, and some good Georgia sports!

How was your weekend?

Nails and new bloggy friends!

I signed up for the best link up a few weeks ago, and I am so excited to finally share with everyone.

I got paired with the sweetest girl, Brighton, as she put up with my family emergencies and didn't get her polish on time. Brighton was patient with me and sent the cutest package! She has the greatest creativity and I can not wait to get to know her better and better.

The one word I used to describe the polish I loved was "bright". And I got just that! I love the orange and pink of each color and I can think of so many combos with colors I already have!!

If you haven't already stop by and say hello to Brighton, a super sweet girl with a wonderful blog! I promise you will be happy you did!

Ps, thanks so much to the hosts of this link-up! Y'all did a great job!
