Outfits like this make me smile, they make me want to jump up and down and feel dirt between my toes. They make me want to dance outside at night (or just anytime really). They are comfortable and cute. A little hippie dippie and a little country girl. 

As you know from before, this dirt road is my most favorite place in the world I think. I have to take a few pictures here every time I venture home. It represents so much to me. It's where we used to ride horses when I was younger, laughing and yelling, getting lessons on the perfect sliding stop. It's where I ran as fast as I could, when my younger sister fell and broke her arm. It's where Mama and I walked many mornings, determined to get in better shape but laughing and learning so much about each other along the way. It has our favorite Y tree, or used to. It's where I got to drive the tractor with my Papa, it's where we used to draw in the dirt with sticks. It's where we used to drive when it was just to early to go in, it has heard happy times and sad times, fighting and loving. It's as far as I got the first time I ever "ran" away.  It's where my sisters and I grew up, the place that will always lead to what we call home.

i want to be inspired when i walk into my house everyday. i want it to feel lived in and loved. i want every piece to be something special. right now i seem to be going through the biggest struggle. trying to figure out the things i love, the things i hate, the things i have to have. renting a home is so annoying. i hate the wooden paneling in this little square box of a house and the ugly wooden cabinets are not any better. i want to paint everything, but it wouldn't be something i would get to enjoy. i have the best arrangement, with no lease, no security deposit, so i find even thinking about leaving hard. especially since i am unsure about where this life will take me. unsure if i will stay in this small town much longer. i want my home to reflect who i am. i guess it does, since what i am is a girl who can't commit to a couch, much less a career, a town, or even a hobby. 
i will figure it out. that is my only choice.
these pictures are somewhat what i desire my house to be. a blank canvas for the accessories that i might choose. a blank canvas where i can pick the colors that should be on the throws, art that inspires me, and antiques that make me smile.
do you have trouble decorating? as creative as i am in other areas, this seems to be the biggest area i struggle with. do any of you have any decorating secrets?

I got to see these fellas last night.

If you haven't heard of the Josh Abbott Band, you need to crawl out from under that rock you have been hiding under and listen to their music.

Amazing. 

I am also pretty excited about this weekend, a wedding with some of my long lost favorites, family time, and sweet south Georgia dirt roads.

a drive, a birthday, a wedding, and a new layout

This weekend was a busy one to say the least. Andy and I headed to my home in Denmark this weekend. 

It was amazing to celebrate with friends and family for both my sweet mama's birthday, and for my friends wedding.

Dirt road runs at home on an early morning are the BEST. This one sure didn't let me down.

Since we were over excited with our time planning to get to the wedding, we were able to stop at this cute roadside store. All the preserves, syrups, and South Carolina goodies you could imagine.

This is where the wedding was held, Old Sheldon Church. This was the ruins of a church that was burnt once by the British and then again by the Northern army during the civil war. To say that it was beautiful would be an understatement.

Sunday, A put up the tin flag he had made for my granny. I think it looks great!

The rest of my Sunday was spent catching up with my family and watching these two goobers do acrobatic tricks on our front porch. My silly, silly sisters.

 It was a beyond wonderful weekend at home, I am always super sad to be back away from my precious family, but look forward to the next time we can all be together again. They make me smile, laugh til it hurts, and just so happy.

Oh... Have you noticed my new layout? I am absolutely in LOVE with it! It was done by a sweet friend, who was a real life friend in college, we lost touch, and then I found her again in the bloggy world.

You can seriously tell my aesthetic from my array of pins. I LOVE mixed fabrics, patterns, and colors.
I love a bright POP of color and can not get enough of different textures. I like homes that look lived in yet not messy, ones that are a mix of vintage and modern. Hand-painted signs with different inspiration everywhere you look. My plan until I can afford more is to make do with what I have and only buy items that I truly LOVE.
